MicroCT scan of the skull and mandible of a Chinese alligator (Alligator sinensis). The dataset consists of two image stacks and was imaged within the SEBEK project at the NHMW.
Usage Notes
Due their size two scans were done to cover the whole skull and mandible. The dataset "NHMW-ZOO-HS-37966-Alligator-sinensis-skull-1" covers the snout area and "NHMW-ZOO-HS-37966-Alligator-sinensis-skull-2" the back part of the specimen. The scanning parameters are stored within the "_ScanInfos" file (XML) and the reconstruction parameters within the "_ReconInfos" file (XML). The image stack were cropped and exported in the TIF file format.
Exposure time: 1 s for 3600 projection images / scan
Scanning parameters: 140 kV, 130 µA, 1 mm Copper pre-filter
Reconstructed isotropic voxel size: 84.4 µm
The 3D models based on the dataset are further available on MorphoMuseum: https://doi.org/10.18563/journal.m3.284
