Abstract

3D models used in the publication Tetaert et al. (2025, submitted). This dataset consists of six bones; four astragali and two calcanei of two extinct Elephantidae species: Mammuthus primigenius and Palaeoloxodon tiliensis.

Usage Notes

Two different methods of digitisation were used for the specimens (see metadata files for details):

Surface scanning (done by Clémentine Tetaert): Artec LEO, models reconstructed using Artec Studio Professional software (v. 2.1.6.16, Artec 3D, 186 2018; v. 15.1.2.60, Artec 3D, 2020)

CT scanning (done by Viola Winkler): YXLON FF35 CT (Perkin Elmer Y.Panel 4343 CT detector) of the NHMW
